Spotify: This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it

Are you plagued with the following error message in Spotify, regardless of what you’re trying to listen to?

This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.

It’s actually quite a simple fix, just toggleย off all other sources. It appears to be a conflict with a remote hard drive or iTunes music source conflicting with Spotify.

  1. Hi I tried doing that and my Spotify still won’t let me listen to music it keeps changing the songs and doesn’t play anything, and keeps popping up with “this song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it.” Which i dont have anything imported.

  2. I’m so sorry for refreshing such old topic, but I still have a problem. I have Spotify premium and most of my songs plays without any issue, but some of them just won’t play – then I’m getting that “song not avaliable” thing so I uploaded those songs to my local files. And they are still not playing! Spotify website says that when you upload, your local files have priority to play even if song is on spotify – but mine doesn’t really look like they are prioritized…
    Any ideas?
